Manchester United have already signed Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell, but Sir Alex Ferguson has targeted at least two more signings, according to the Daily Mail

Despite suffering a major financial blow last season, Manchester United still have the power to challenge the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City in the transfer market.

Nevertheless, United must be wise with their transfer money now.

Continue reading to see why signing Leighton Baines and Christian Eriksen will help the Red Devils win back the Premier League.

Leighton Baines has been linked (The Guardian) with a switch to Manchester United for a long time, but the move never materialised.

Last season showed just how badly United need another established full-back: Patrice Evra was shrouded in the racism saga and his performances suffered badly. Fabio and Rafael had disappointing seasons.

Manchester United need a full-back and Baines represents everything the Red Devils need. He's an attacking-minded left-back who is able to provide extra width, but is also superb in defence.

However, Everton will not let go of their star player easily.

Christian Eriksen

Sir Alex Ferguson has been following the Ajax star for a long time, and finally Christian Eriksen is ready to pursue a greater, more competitive club.

According to the Daily Mail, Eriksen is interested in a move to Manchester United.

Eriksen is, above all, a fantastic playmaker, and United have long missed a creative spark in the midfield. Playing alongside Kagawa, another highly rated playmaker, or on the wing would once again make United's midfield a force to be reckoned with.

Ajax have already signed Adam Maher as a possible replacement for the young Dane—it seems the Dutch club are prepared to sell their best player.

Which players do Manchester United need to sign to win back the title? Can the Red Devils do it with the current squad? Which player would you like to see at Old Trafford?
