Dave's College Basketball Picks, Feb. 18: Ohio State at Northwestern

dave darbySenior Analyst IFebruary 18, 2009

Ohio State (17-6, 7-5) at Northwestern (13-10, 4-8)

Line: Pick

Ohio State lost a nationally televised matchup against Wisconsin 50-55 in the Kohl Center Saturday night. The game was tight the whole way, but the Buckeyes could not overcome their 19 turnovers and poor rebounding. The loss broke a four-game winning streak and leaves the Buckeyes in a four-team tie in the win column of the Big Ten standings.

Northwestern dropped its third straight game 67-70 on Sunday against Michigan in overtime. The Wildcats have not played that poorly in the losing streak, even though they don’t have much left to play for. Only two of the remaining six regular season games left for Northwestern are at home, so it will be a long final two-and-a-half weeks for the Wildcats.
