Dave's College Basketball Picks, Feb. 18: Indiana State at Southern Illinois

Indiana State (7-19, 5-10) at Southern Illinois (11-15, 6-9)

Line: Southern Illinois -6.5

Now that Indiana State has cleared Missouri State at the bottom of the standings with a 76-71 victory over the Bears, the Sycamores can start thinking about moving up. One game in front of Indiana State in the standings is their Wednesday night opponent Southern Illinois, as well as Drake. Winners of three in a row, Indiana State plays four teams without a winning record to end their regular season.

Southern Illinois got an 82-60 whipping by Creighton on national TV Saturday. The Salukis were outplayed in just about every area of the game, which was a blowout early.

The loss was the second in a row and fourth out of the last five games the Salukis have played. After playing the top two teams in the Missouri Valley Conference, Southern Illinois should be excited to see the Sycamores, whom they beat 58-47 in their first matchup back on Jan. 21.
