If the following rumor is true then WWE would truly be paying respect to someone who deserves it just as much as any world champion.

According to this report from 24Wrestling we could be seeing WWE put a jobber into the hall.

“The Brooklyn Brawler” Steve Lombardi is the latest name rumored for the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame. Lombardi has worked for WWE in various roles since 1983. Regarding the location for the 2013 ceremony, Madison Square Garden in New York City is being rumored.

This would be a great move by WWE as Lombardi is universally respected in the wrestling industry by wrestlers and fans alike.

As The Brooklyn Brawler and Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz, we saw Lombardi portray the ultimate talent enhancement.

WWE did give Lombardi a title shot against Shawn Michaels at one point, but he failed to get the job done and left the ring empty handed.

Lombardi is probably the longest standing contracted talent to never hold a WWE title belt of any kind, and while that is not something most would see as an accomplishment, it certainly speaks to Lombardi's attitude.

He did not judge his career by titles, but rather he took pride in performances, and that is what made him such a great jobber. Any match he had looked good.

A lot of superstars owe Lombardi a thank you for making them look good, and one way to give thanks is to put him in the Hall of Fame.

As someone who began watching wrestling in the 80s I could not be happier to hear this. The Brooklyn Brawler is someone who I fondly remember as the guy who made all my favorites look like superstars.

What do you think of the possibility of the first real jobber induction?
