Recruiting: Four Defensive Ends High on Michigan State's Board

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio and his staff are still looking to add a few blue-chip defensive ends for the class of 2013. Several prospects have moved to the top of the list: Brookfield (Wis.) East's Alec James The 6-foot-4, 220-pound James is the No. 21 defensive end in the nation, according to Rivals.com, and a three-star recruit. Most believe it is a three horse race for James between MSU, Wisconsin and Notre Dame. The Spartans already have two commitments from the Badger State for 2013 -- tight end Dylan Chmura and running back R.J. Shelton. MSU running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Brad Salem is James' primary recruiter.
