Don't Be Fooled Roger Clemens Is Finished

Hey—it was just the Pirates.
Before we go etching Roger Clemens' name on the Cy Young award, let's remember that much: It was just the Pirates. And it was just June. And everyone—Roger Clemens, the Yankees, everyone—has a long way to go to set things right in the Bronx.
I don't mean to take anything away from Clemens here. A 44-year-old man with a bum groin who's good for 100+ pitches is just fine by my book.
But he's still a 44-year-old man with a bum groin. And like I said, it's just June.
Do I hope things work out for the Rocket? Of course. Do I think they will? Not on your life.
He'll escape major injury, sure, and he'll probably win a few games before now and the end of the season...but Roger Clemens today is not Roger Clemens of three years ago. Or Roger Clemens of one year ago, for that matter.
Oh well. At least he got off to a good start.
Even if it was just the Pirates.
