Hey, I get it! I know you NASCAR fans wanted a complete race, but think of it this way. If NASCAR had continued the race after the rain delay, how many of the Television Stations would have carried the end of the race?
I for one, am grateful they didn't. They played it safe and smart in my book. Sure they could have finished it on Monday, but for less than 60 laps? How would that have been economically smart in today's climate? I think it is just because someone less known won the race that the backlash is happening.
I mean when Matt won the 2003 Championship, NASCAR changed the rules the next year. I am sure that Matt felt slighted, he didn't say anything but I am sure he felt it. Maybe this is NASCAR's way of paying him back for that mistake.
So in response to all of the negative press that this Daytona 500 is getting, I just want to thank them for playing it safe.
