WWE MITB 2012: John Cena Will Win Contract and Face CM Punk at SummerSlam
At Money in the Bank this Sunday, CM Punk will defend his WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan. AJ will be the special guest referee.
According to a report by WrestleZone last month, "WWE is looking at having CM Punk defend the WWE Championship against John Cena at SummerSlam on August 19th."
If WWE is smart, it'll pull the trigger on that plan. Last summer, Punk and Cena put on two brilliant matches (at Money in the Bank and SummerSlam) and should be able to do the same this summer.
The question is, how can WWE set up the match?
The easiest way to set up the match would be to have CM Punk retain the WWE title at Money in the Bank and have Cena win the WWE Championship Money in the Bank Ladder match.
The next night on Raw, Cena could challenge Punk to a match at SummerSlam. Punk could accept, and in the process, potentially drop one of the biggest pipe bombs he's ever dropped.
Last night on Raw, Eve taunted CM Punk and acknowledged what many fans already know by claiming that although he has been WWE champion for over seven months, he has been overshadowed by non-champions like The Rock, John Cena, Triple H, Big Show, Brock Lesnar and even AJ.
In response, CM Punk became visibly upset.
Will John Cena win the WWE Championship MITB Ladder match?
Ultimately, CM Punk could use Eve's words as fuel to light a frustration-filled pipe bomb to throw back at Cena and the WWE. He wouldn't even have to do what many fans (including myself) want him to do: turn heel.
Besides the easy way to set up the match (mentioned above), a more creative way to set up the match would be to have Daniel Bryan defeat Punk for the title, have Cena cash in on Bryan and have Punk invoke his rematch clause on Cena.
The possibilities for setting up the match are endless.
Regardless of how the match is set up, it needs to happen.
What do you think? Will CM Punk retain his title? Will John Cena win the WWE Championship Money in the Bank Ladder match? Will CM Punk vs. John Cena III happen? How would you set it up?
