Taj Gibson was named the US Bank Pac-10 player of the week, according to the Pac-10 Official Site.

Gibson powered in his 5th double-double of the season in USC's Saturday victory over #7 Stanford.

"Gibson, a sophomore from Brooklyn, N.Y., helped lead USC to a home sweep of California and Stanford and achieve a third-place tie in the Conference standings. Against the Golden Bears, Gibson scored 21 points in the 93-89 overtime win. He tied the score at 80 with two free throws and USC then took the lead for good from that point on. Against No. 7 Stanford, Gibson posted his fifth double-double of the season, scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, while also notching five blocks against the Cardinal."

Gibson is one of the more rounded and consistent players both on offense and defense. His size and reach make him a formidable defender, and his presence on the court is essential for USC to put together a deep tournament run.
