Man, it’s nice to be in Arizona. It’s about 75 degrees right now, I didn’t pack anything but shorts for the trip, and the biggest problem I have is when to reapply sunscreen. I just got back from the Mariners game, and life is good. Unless you’re Erik Bedard, anyway. He got SHELLED today; I don’t have numbers, but he gave up two home runs and 4 runs in the second inning. But the great thing is, it doesn’t matter. I sat there, had a few beers, watched my favorite team play baseball, and talked to a lot of really cool people in the stands.

Spring training is so casual, it’s ridiculous. There was one point where, I can’t remember, let’s call it Jermaine Dye was up, and he ripped a shot into the right field corner. In August, he’d get thrown out at third trying to stretch that double into a triple - but here, he almost got thrown out at second because it’s spring and there’s no need to go hard, so he was running about half-speed into second. I love that.

Another M’s game tomorrow, then a whole day with the nephews Wednesday, and then it’s off to Phoenix for, well, more baseball. I love this week. It should be this week every week.

I’d write more, but it’s 5pm and there’s a cold beer out on the deck waiting for me.
