Roger Federer defeats Andy Murray 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 to win his seventh Wimbledon title, his 17th Grand Slam and got himself back to No. 1 in the world.

What a great tournament and what a great and gutsy performance by both of these players who overcame a lot to get here and to Federer who overcame a hot start by Murray.
There aren't many sporting events quite like Wimbledon.
Also another great ovation for the champion. A record number of Wimbledon championships and how amazing that he has hung around and earned the No. 1 ranking in the world?
Andy Murray just spoke to the fans and has people in tears. How can Federer top that?
If you weren't a fan of Andy Murray before, I don't know how you can't be now. What a humble and gracious guy and he has this place in a fenzy.

And the champion comes up to receive the trophy for a seventh time! Classy reaction by some understandably disappointed fans and well deserved jubilation for Federer.

People were just talking after the French Open that Federer's Grand Slam championship days were over. He came to Wimbledon and proved everyone wrong immediately. I believe he is now the second-oldest men's played ever to be ranked No. 1.
What a tremendous performance out of Federer as he sits on the court in tears! Hats off to Andy Murray who battled one of the greatest ever plus some physical ailments plus the overwhelming pressure of the home crowd.
Andy staves off elimination momentarily as the chants rain down. Murray returns the serve wide and Roger Federer is now the seven-time Wimbledon champion and back to No. 1 in the world!
A lob by Murray goes just long! It's even at 15-15! Federer blisters a serve that Murray can't return and he follows with an ace to set up championship point!
