Did Anderson Silva just put the main event of tomorrow night's UFC 148 pay-per-view in jeopardy by striking Chael Sonnen at the weigh-in face-off?
Moments after each man successfully made weight, the competitors stood toe-to-toe for the face-off photo. Silva got close to his nemesis and then created a little bit of distance.
In a split-second, Silva threw his shoulder sharply into Sonnen's jaw and UFC staff quickly broke things up.
Should Silva be subject to assault charges? Will he be fined for the unprovoked strike? Does this just go to show you that Chael Sonnen is living rent-free in Anderson Silva's head?
When you consider that this attack happened outside of the sanctioned time and location of the contracted fight, Sonnen could press charges and make the champion spend the evening before the fight sitting in a Las Vegas jail cell.
