Everyone knows that Chad Ochocinco has arguably the NFL’s most popular Twitter account, as the flamboyant wide receiver—now of the Miami Dolphins—has over three million followers.

Ochocinco may get much of the love from football fans, but he’s not the only funny player on Twitter. The following six players have a penchant for being good NFL players to follow on Twitter.

Tom Crabtree

The backup tight end for the Green Bay Packers isn’t well-known around the league, but he’s an extremely funny player on Twitter. Tom Crabtree has a great sense of humor and he’s always tweeting whatever funny thing is on his mind.

A sample of his funny tweets can be found here.

Evan Mathis

The Philadelphia Eagles’ left guard is hilarious on Twitter, from his profile picture to his description when he calls himself a “sit-down comedian.”

Mathis loves to tweet to his teammates, and I cracked up reading what he tweeted at teammate Riley Cooper yesterday.

Chris Kluwe

You wouldn’t expect a punter to be so controversial or outspoken on Twitter, but that’s what Chris Kluwe is. The Minnesota Vikings punter was openly critical of Roger Goodell during the NFL lockout, and he’s got some extremely funny tweets to his name.

Make sure you add Kluwe to the list of NFL players you follow on Twitter.

Chris Cooley

The Washington Redskins tight end is always free to share whatever is on his mind…even if he has accidentally tweeted pictures in the past that wouldn’t be deemed as too appropriate.

Cooley is still a must-follow, though, because you never really know what you’re going to get from him.

Joshua Cribbs

The NFL’s electrifying kick returner of the Cleveland Browns has one of the best reputations of any player in the league on Twitter.

He frequently responds to the fans and loves interacting with them, and everyone loves an NFL player who will write back to the fans.

Most of Cribbs’ tweets are about movies, as he’s an avid movie buff, and you can use him as a second reference if you want to know whether movies are worth watching.

Rashard Mendenhall

Like Chris Cooley, Rashard Mendenhall is worth following on Twitter because he’s extremely controversial. Who can forget his comments last year in regards to Osama Bin Laden’s death?

Besides that, Mendenhall is creative on Twitter and he frequently talks with fans, which is a big reason why he has over 85,000 followers.
