Who will win the 2008 NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament? The latest offshore odds have North Carolina as the favorite and it is expected that the Las Vegas odds will follow suit.

The Tar Heels are 9/2, followed very closely by UCLA at 5/1. Kansas it next at 11/2, followed closely by Louisville and Memphis at 8/1 then Tennessee and Texas at 9/1. The Tar Heels are No. 1 in both the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN poll. Tennessee tops the flawed RPI.

As regular clients of GodsTips, the anchor of OffshoreInsiders.com, we believe the Massey Comparison Ratings, combining the strengths and weaknesses of all the top power ratings, is the top rankings from a sports handicapping standpoint.

They have UNC No. 1 followed by Memphis, UCLA, Kansas and Tennessee.

Georgetown is the best dark horse at 14/1 according to Cy McCormick of the online betting syndicate MasterLockLine.com. “They have great big men as almost every National Champion does,” says McCormick. “But they are also well tested coming from the deepest conference in the country, the Big East.”

The odds of course are posted before the major conference tournaments begin, so a sports bettor who sees a Cinderella team can make some serious money by anteing up now. Will rebuilt Florida play their way in and win a third consecutive National Champion? Billy Donovan’s Gators are 200/1 to make it three in a row.

Talk about no respect, this year’s surprise Drake is merely part of “the field” at 25/1. More teams of interest to win March Madness (the Final Four is in April) include peaking Connecticut at 12/1 and Michael Beasley led Kansas State at 22/1.

It’s time for GodsTips famed Million Dollar March. We burn the midnight oil, brew the coffee and again will win more than any other sports service on earth. It’s all at GodsTips, anchor of OffshoreInsiders.com
