Movies are what define the decade when the film comes out and sometimes even people if they are a classic. These are the top five movies of all time that define American fans as what they are today. Whether the basis of the story line is overcoming racism in sports or some other adversity, sport movies keep drawing people to the silver screen.
Number Five
"Friday Night Lights" is a true story based on the state runner up Permian Panthers from Texas. It is a very good plot and looks into the pressure on kids that are involved in high school sports.
Number Four
"Remember the Titans" is a story about overcoming racism as a black man tries to be a coach and integrate his team with black and white players. This is a very inspiring story.
Number Three
Coach Carter is a very inspiring, true story about how a high school basketball coach took a bunch of, basically, renegade kids and turned them into men and basketball players.
Number Two
Hoosiers is obviously a classic sports movie. Gene Hackman stars as the head coach who leads a small high school basketball team to be a contender for the state championship.
Number One
Miracle, a story about the 1980 USA Olympic Hockey Team, is a movie on how a team full of college kids out-played and out-thought a team full of NHL professionals who were twice the size of these 18, 19, 20, 21 year old kids from small towns around the US. Definitely the best sports movie of all time!
