Butler Bulldogs: Better Than You Think

Some great college basketball teams are overlooked because of the conference in which they play. The Butler Bulldogs are one of them. Today I’m gong to explain to you the reasons they should be more recognized and get more respect.

The first reason the Butler Bulldogs should be more recognized is their place in the rankings. Butler is currently first in the Horizon league and 15th in the entire nation. I don’t really understand why they aren’t better in the rankings when Louisville and UCLA are each 18-4 and 19-4 and Butler is 21-2. Butler also is 1-1 in top 25 games. I’d say they should be at least in the top 10 in the polls with that record. Don't you agree?

Furthermore, Butler shouldn’t be so overlooked is their tournament history. In 2006-2007, they got a 5 seed in the tournament. In 2003, the Bulldogs reached the Sweet Sixteen as a 12 seed! In 2007, Butler made it to the Elite Eight and got knocked off by the defending champion Florida Gators. In 2008, Butler was awarded the seven seed and made it to the second round of the tourney where they got knocked off by the Tennessee Volunteers.
