The Spanish had a hard time of it against Portugal in the semifinal but showed why they are favourites by going through on penalties.

Spain will be looking to complete history by winning a third consecutive major international trophy, but they know things won't be easy considering their last game against this opponent.

The Spanish have changed between a "false nine" and a regular centre-forward during the competition but have fared reasonably well thanks to their play off the bench.

It will be interesting to see what final decision Vicente Del Bosque makes with regard to the lineup.

Here is a prediction for the starting lineup for Spain in the Euro 2012 final:

Formation (4-3-3)

  Arbeloa   Pique   Ramos   Alba

           Xavi   Busquets   Alonso

           Silva  Fabregas  Iniesta

Spain will retain the same starting lineup that played against Italy in their first meeting and expect a better result this time around. David Silva will have to improve upon his quarterfinal showing but gets the nod thanks to his playmaking skills.

Folks may be hoping for the inclusion of Jesus Navas or Pedro considering how good they have been off the bench, but Del Bosque may prefer to keep them in reserve should any change be needed.

Fernando Torres is likely to be a third substitution unless he gets the start.
