The 2012 NBA draft kicks off on Thursday night, meaning a great deal of amateur athletes will soon be millionaires. If history is any guide, they will have quite the lovely ladies along for the ride.
Hours before the draft, palms are getting sweaty, guts are being hit with uneasy feelings and the suits are coming back from the cleaners.
Some of the luckiest draft prospects will have the soothing calm that comes with a fine woman in their respective corners.
Here is a brief look into the best NBA draft moments from the past and present.
These are those times that made you sit up form your draft coverage and wonder who that lady that flashed on the screen was.
We have also included a couple of WAGs that very well might feature in Thursday's proceedings.
Did we miss a great WAG moment from the past? Sound off on our egregious error in the comments section.
Deron and Amy Williams
Back in 2005, Deron Williams was taken third overall by the Utah Jazz, and he enjoyed the moment alongside his then-girlfriend, Amy, and his daughter, Danae Williams.
Shots of Amy caused a great many NBA fans to wonder just who was at Williams' table. It really only takes a momentary glance for a WAG to become a national sensation.

Here is one from the pages of draft possibilities. Brittany Hotard may very well feature prominently in Thursday night's event.
The cameras will no doubt be glued in on Doc Rivers' son, Austin Rivers, a Duke standout who will make one franchise very happy.
More information on the two can be found here.
Mrs. Jimmer Fredette
Of course, Jimmer Fredette's wife was merely Whitney Wonnacott prior to the 2011 NBA draft. The two were recently married and will no doubt have a lifetime of joy despite the need to be in and around Sacramento.
Here is a video of Wonnacott explaining how much of an ordeal the NBA, the draft and a myriad of other things were just prior to the big day.
DeAnn Smith

Jared Sullinger may just need a hug, so we expect to see his better half, DeAnn Smith, with him wherever he decides to watch the proceedings from.
Back issues forced him from being invited to the live event, but I will assume there will be a broadcast crew at his home in case he goes higher, or well lower, than many believed.
Here is more information on the two.
Gordon Hayward and Kolbi Killingback

The 2010 NBA draft saw Gordon Hayward go ninth overall to the Utah Jazz. The bigger stir came when a shot of the happy NBA prospect came with a lovely lady by his side.
Inquiring minds finally got what they wanted in the form of her name, Kolbi Killingback. Sign her up to play in some medieval action-adventure movie.
Kytra Hunter

Bradley Beal should fly off the board fairly early, so we will make note of the most athletic WAG we have seen in some time.
Beal has dated Florida gymnast Kytra Hunter, an All-SEC first-team member, and the SEC selection of Freshman of the Year.
More information on the two can be found here.
Jan Vesely Make-out Session
Jan Vesely was taken sixth overall in the 2011 NBA draft and rewarded the franchise by going off for 4.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game this past season.
Eh, it's a process.
Things really got interesting when he was drafted and got a nice long smooch from his girlfriend, Eva Kodouskova.
