The first semifinal of Euro 2012 is over with Spain winning on penalty kicks and here are the player ratings for the Portuguese side.

Portugal and Spain played out a somewhat dull semifinal game, with moments of quality mixed in with moments of scrappy play. There were chances for both sides throughout the game, with Spain having a few of the more clear cut ones.

Here are the player ratings for Portuguese players.

Rui Patricio - 7

Rui Patricio had little to do, but was solid when called upon. His save from Andres Iniesta's close-range effort and Jesus Navas's shot kept his team in the game.

Joao Pereira - 6.5

Joao Pereira was good both offensively and defensively for Portugal throughout the game.

Bruno Alves - 6.5

Bruno Alves had a few lapses and gave the ball away a lot going forward, but overall he was solid.

Pepe - 7

Pepe was good defensively and rounded of a solid game with a well-taken penalty.

Fabio Coentrao - 6.5

Fabio Coentrao was, like his defensive colleagues, solid enough to keep Spain out for 120 minutes. He did his fair bit going forward as well.

Miguel Veloso - 6

Miguel Veloso worked hard throughout the entire game and helped stifle Spain's midfield play to great effect.

Raul Meireles - 6

Before he came off, Raul Meireles showed his work ethic, but did not bomb forward as much as he usually does.

Joao Moutinho - 6

It was hard to tell whether Moutinho was on the pitch at times offensively, but he was as industrious as his other teammates defensively.

Nani- 6

Nani had some good creative moments, but was unable to get on the end of or create anything meaningful for his teammates.

Cristiano Ronaldo - 6.5

Cristiano Ronaldo was dangerous in the first half and during parts of the second. He faded as his team did during extra-time.

Hugo Almeida - 5

Almeida was not very effective on the offensive end thanks to his lack of pace and took some wayward shots in the second half.

Nelson Oliveira - 5

Came on for Almeida before regular time and was anonymous.

Custodio - 5

Custodio did not put his fresh legs to good use as Spain were able to find more space in the midfield during extra-time.

Varela - N/A

Had little time to influence the match.
