NFC South Morning Jog: 2012 Saints Are 'Greatest Unknown in NFL History'

With the bounty scandal looming over the head of the franchise, it's hard to predict what will happen in 2012.

Each morning, I like to start the day off with a workout—usually a morning jog. I can clear my head, plan my day, and think about what’s going on around the NFC South.

 

New Orleans Saints

The NFL Players Association has asked the NFL to look into whether or not the Saints are breaking any rules in their contract negotiations with Drew Brees. The NFLPA feels that New Orleans may be harboring a grudge against Brees for his outspoken fight against the owners during the lockout last year. [The Times-Picayune]

With just a month remaining until training camp, the Times-Picayune calls this year's Saints "the greatest unknown in NFL history."

 

Atlanta Falcons

Pro Football Focus called corner Brent Grimes a veteran just "a small leap in play from joining [Darrelle] Revis" as one of the best corners in the NFL.

 

Carolina Panthers

Cam Newton was ranked as the No. 15 quarterback in the NFL by Ron Jaworski, according to the Charlotte Observer.

 

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Wide receiver Tiquan Underwood is trying to use his versatility and experience to move up the Bucs depth chart, according to Pewter Report.

The Tampa Bay Times reported that between September 2010 and May 2011, eight Bucs were arrested. Since then, not one player has been arrested.
