Chris Jericho Raises Controversy After Assaulting a Fan

Chris Jericho is an actor for the WWE. You have to understand this, unless you are a child. All the superstars of World Wrestling Entertainment are the most committed professional athletes I have ever watched. These guys work hard day in and day out, and at the same time, they juggle several promotional events the WWE throws their way. Respect for these athletes should come easily.

Chris Jericho did slap or punch a woman in the face. If you watch the video closely, you can see that she pushed him first, he displayed his emotion, and she didn't let up. He glared at her, and then acted as though he would strike. Jericho then attempted to get in his truck and leave the event. As he went to sit in his truck, the same woman spat in his face. and he hit her.

I live in Texas, and in this state, that is known as self-defense. Spitting in someone's face is known as assault, so he only defended himself as a man should. The separation from entertainment and reality needs to come into play here. He puts his pants on the same way you and I do every day, and he is a hard worker just like the rest of us—he is an actor.

I am not a Jerichoholic, but respect is something that everyone should use everyday. I do not believe he should suffer any reprocussions, but perhaps the fan should.
