The Chicago Bulls have some massive decisions to make. Derrick Rose is recovering from a torn ACL, putting the present title contention in jeopardy. And if Chicago isn't contending in the short term, that certainly impacts long-term decision-making.
Of paramount is Carlos Boozer and his $60 million contract. This is obviously a deal that Chicago regrets, despite Boozer performing well offensively.
The problem is that Booze is effective against certain defenses, but he struggles against length. Since successful playoff teams often have such length, this problem has appeared to plague Chicago in the playoffs.
If you're anti-Boozer, the question might be, "Amnesty him now or later?"
With Rose at a max deal and hefty contracts for Deng and Joan (for now), the Bulls will have to make some big moves to assure a future near or at the top.
