In the promotion of the 1,000th episode of Raw, we have been treated to blasts from the past with superstars like Roddy Piper, Vader, Cyndi Lauper, Wendy Richter and Mick Foley returning to the show.

Tonight, we witnessed the return of Psycho Sid to Monday Night Raw. In my opinion, this is one return that we could have done without.

In what was billed as his first appearance on Monday Night Raw in 15 years, Sid returned looking like what we fear that every legend will look like. Fifteen years of bad road.

Sid looked old, frail and clearly a shadow of what he used to be.

With that being said, I don’t want it to seem that I am picking on him for being old, because that is something that Sid cannot help.  Fifteen years have passed, and it is only natural that he would look older. However, in today’s day and age, appearances mean everything.

When Vader returned two weeks ago, he looked exactly like he did last time we saw him. Tonight, Sid was not even close to the man he was in WCW. These things matter.

The audience is not going to care about someone who we last saw 15 years ago who was a monster and today looks like a grandpa. That is the sad reality.

Someone had to know how old Sid looked. They should have prevented the return. Now Sid has been exposed as a frail, old man.
