Twitter is a magical site that often leads to open discourse, possible pratfalls and, in this case, a lurid bikini shot from Stephanie Rice.

Let me say right out that I don't think there is anything particularly racy about the following tweet, but it certainly seems to be causing quite the ruckus with others.

The famed Australian Olympic swimmer took to Twitter recently and sent out this picture.

Rick Chandler of NBC Sports' Off the Bench spotted this tweet and reminded us of the last time Rice caused a stir via tweet.

Back in 2010, Rice made a homophobic slur she later apologized for. This time, the controversy is far more subdued as she dons a skimpy bikini by designer Ellie Gonsalves.

I know. It really gets the blood boiling, doesn't it?

Chandler links to an initial report from Australian website News.com.au

That is where the headline states, "Olympic swimming golden girl Stephanie Rice tweets racy bikini photos to celebrate her 24th birthday."

Racy? Me no think so.

They do point out there is a possible conflict of interest with the swimmer flaunting an alternate designer from Speedo, but Rice's team quickly squashes this as mere affection for all things Ellie Gonsalves.

So this is a "move along, nothing to see here" news story. Of course, I am sure many of you will see it far more differently as you take in the Instagram pic in full.
