Bahrain Sandstorm Prevents Further Testing

Three teams were again unable to test today in Bahrain, as a second sandstorm in as many days hit the circuit.

The emergency helicopter was unable to fly in such conditions, and thus the session was red flagged.

BMW, Ferrari, and Toyota had chosen Bahrain to escape likely wet conditions in Europe, but still the weather thwarted the teams' plans.

Robert Kubica, Kimi Raikkonen, and Jarno Trulli each completed installation laps but the session was stopped shortly after.

Unfortunately for Kubica, Klien is set to complete the final day of testing for BMW, whereas both Trulli and Raikkonen have Thursday in the car.

With only 12 days of tests remaining until the season opener in Melbourne, this test time is very valuable to the teams. And with the 2009 aero regulations and rule changes, any more lost track time will put the them at a disadvantage to the European testers.
