Green Bay -- The Packers haven't made much of an effort to re-sign Ryan Grant, or any veteran running back, for that matter. To some, a surprise. Grant finished strong and could provide stability. But it also could be a subtle vote of confidence in Alex Green.

Recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, Green agrees that may be the case.

“Yeah, somewhat, yeah," Green said. "I mean, at the same time it’s a business. Whatever the reason was for them not bringing him back, I don’t know what the reason was. But it definitely gives you an opportunity to step up. The young guys can step up into a bigger role next year.”
