George Mason-Delaware: Patriots Visit Hens in Must-Win Matchup

Chris BrooksCorrespondent IFebruary 12, 2009

Mason will travel to Newark, De., for a midweek matchup with the UD Blue Hens. Mason is currently third in the CAA at 9-4, while the Hens are 4-9 and are near the cellar.

Mason is led by John Vaughan, who is averaging 11.9 points, and Cam Long, who is scoring 11.8 points. Mason is coming off a loss to JMU, which was their first loss in five years to the Dukes.

This season, Mason is 5-7 away from the Patriot Center, while UDel is 6-6 at the Bob Carpenter Center. The Patriots (16-7) are limiting teams to just 60.7 points, which ranks them 29th in the NCAA and second in the conference for scoring defense.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen on ESPNU...for whatever reason, my knucklehead friends and I will be heading up 95 to watch our boys get a must-win on the road.
