Sheamus, the current world heavyweight champion, has been riding a crest of momentum in recent months.

Since defeating Daniel Bryan for the title in a jaw-dropping 18 seconds at WrestleMania 28, "The Great White" has successfully defended his crown at the last three pay-per-view events.

Now, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via Rajah.com), Sheamus is set to face the man who embodies Mexican royalty:

[Alberto] Del Rio will now likely get his World Heavyweight title shot against Sheamus at Money in the Bank on July 15th.

This news is no surprise given the WWE's long-standing insistence on pitting Sheamus against Del Rio in a feud dating back to the Raw after WrestleMania.

For those who remember, the segment highlighting who was to be Sheamus' next opponent at the time (Del Rio) turned into a catastrophe when the fans in attendance vehemently protested.

As a result, the WWE took advantage of Bryan's affirmative connection with the crowd, effectively postponing a Del Rio-Sheamus clash.

Not to mention, Del Rio hasn't done himself any favors either since reportedly threatening to quit the WWE over creative differences.

Still, the former Dos Caras has seemingly used his wrestling home base in Mexico as leverage to persuade the WWE to see things his way.

Thus—having fully recovered from his concussion—Del Rio will get another chance to prove his worth as a headliner on July 15.
