According to the NFL Network the Seattle Seahawks have signed another running back to assist their ineffective backfield.
The deal inked running back Julius Jones, according to ESPN, for four years, worth about $3 million each year.
Jones, 26, ran for 588 yards and two touchdowns in 2007, giving the majority of the load to teammate Marion Barber.
Barber is still on the Dallas Cowboys roster, while Julius Jones was allowed to explore the free agency market.
Seattle has also signed Pro Bowl offensive guard Mike Wahle this free agency period, and it appears that their focus this offseason is to renovate their running game.
Last week, the Seahawks signed former Lion's running back T.J. Duckett to a deal, and with this recent signing of Jones, it could indicate that Shaun Alexander is heading out the door.
Over the years, there have been numerous rumors about Alexander being traded to Cincinnati. Alexander grew up in Kentucky, and is known and liked by Bengals fans and the Bengals organization.
Regardless of what Seattle chooses to do with Alexander, it will not have a huge impact on their cap room. However, if they cut him before June 1, they could save $4.475 million.
