Jordan Schmaltz was most impressive this season for the Green Bay Gamblers during their Clark Cup run, playing very well at both ends of the ice. The young defenseman can certainly be considered one of the biggest steals of this draft class.

Schmaltz is a talented offensive player who moves the puck up the ice quickly and skates himself out of trouble whenever he's put under pressure in his own end. His skating ability is also on display in the offensive zone when Schmaltz runs the power play from the point. He makes good decisions with the man advantage and is able to set up teammates with quality scoring chances.

Overall, he's a good two-way defenseman that needs to be more physical on the defensive end of the ice.

If he can improve defensively, especially with his great size, Schmaltz could become an imposing defenseman at the NHL level. He's still several years away from the NHL, but Schmaltz was well worth his position in the draft.
