Alright, it's disclaimer time.
For those of you who hate spoilers, please read no further. This news is coming from Tuesday night's taping of SmackDown, which will not air until Friday night.
Now that we have that out of the way, it's time to get down to business.
According to wrestlezone.com:
During this week's episode of Raw Supershow, WWE Legend Mick Foley made his return to announce a new, temporary General Manager concept until a permanent replacement can be named.
On this Friday's episode of Smackdown, WWE will run a backstage segment confirming Vickie Guerrero as the interim General Manager for next week's Raw Supershow.
It should be noted that the interim GM concept is exclusive to former WWE authority figures.
So, for the weeks to come, you should not expect to see any non-authority figures filling this role. That being said, in my eye's, Vickie Guerrero is a great pick for the second week of this concept because it allows her to rekindle the Edge & Vickie years with Dolph Ziggler and gives fans a solid heel authority figure.
Don't get me wrong, I am not comparing Edge to Ziggler, as Edge's career has far surpassed Ziggler's. However, Vickie could easily make some moves to put Ziggler in a spot to get him to the next level.
In the end, I feel this concept only works if you give fans the unexpected. Under no circumstances, should this be a walk down memory lane. Having each authority figure as a fan favorite would prove to be detrimental to the idea.
Ultimately, if that were to happen, it would make the content boring and predictable. Let's face it folks, we have seen enough of that over the years.
Well, let me know your thoughts. Are you a fan of this choice, or will next week be a complete bust?
