If you're an NHL team in this year's draft and looking for a goalie who is a long-term project with a big risk/reward then look no more, Thomas Narmo is your man.

Thomas is looking to be the third Norwegian goalie to be drafted to the NHL in the past two years after Lars Volden and Steffen Soberg were selected in last year's draft.

Thomas Narmo was born and raised a netminder from Lillestrom, Norway and is quite possibly the tallest goaltending prospect in the past few years, standing at 6'7". Thomas is projected to be a late round pick, if picked at all, and his biggest problem is just getting noticed by NHL scouts. This summer Narmo is attending a top goalie camp in Sweden which will have USHL and NCAA scouts and coaches in attendance. Thomas will be looking to make a splash there.

Thomas is the top 18-year-old goalie in Norway and plays a hybrid style that has been compared to another top prospect in Jacob Markstrom. No matter what happens at the upcoming NHL and CHL Import Draft, Narmo plans on playing outside of Norway next season to get more exposure. Right now, he is virtually unknown to North Americans.

Thomas Narmo is coming off his best season to date as his club team Valerenga won the U19 Norwegian National Championships. Narmo posted a 2.26 GAA and a .912 SVS percentage in 17 regular season games as well as an impressive .938 SVS percentage in the playoffs.

He also made his debut in Norway's men's second division with Valerenga playing in three games. Near the end of the season, Narmo would represent his country for the second time as he played for Norway in the U18 Four Nations Tournament in Esbjerg, Denmark. Also during the year, Thomas had tryouts with top Swedish clubs AIK Skelleftea and Frolunda.

The potential with Narmo is endless.

One of Narmo's U18 National Team coaches, André Lysenstøen took the time to give some analysis on Thomas for this article. It should be noted that Lysenstøen at one time was one of the top goaltenders in Norway and competed for them at the 2010 Olympics as well as a few World Championships in the past.

When asked about Narmo's potential, Lysenstøen said "well, he has lots of potential with his size and work ethic. He needs to have the patience to develop and progress his skills." André would later go on to say that "Next year will be very important for him, to see if he can get better with his flaws. Skating has to be his focus as well if as he can get his positioning 100%, skating better and trust his size then it will be impossible to score on him."
