WrestleMania XXV: Matches Being Set

Adrian StaehleSenior Analyst IFebruary 11, 2009

The latest news regarding the WWE plans for the top three matches at WrestleMania XXV in Houston, Texas are as follows, the much-anticipated brother vs. brother match featuring Matt Hardy versus Jeff Hardy not withstanding.

On the SmackDown side, Edge will be defending his WWE Championship against Triple H, in what will presumably be that brand's top match.

It has been years since The Game has had a big win at WrestleMania, and most feel like he is due, which means he might walk away as the new WWE Champion.

As expected, Randy Orton will be wrestling John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship in the top match for the RAW brand.

Predictably, Cena will retain his title at this Sunday's No Way Out pay-per-view in the Elimination Chamber Match.

In a blockbuster matchup that WWE has already planted the seeds for somewhat, The Undertaker will put his legendary 16-0 WrestleMania winning streak on the line against Shawn Michaels.

The sources that all should be locks if WWE has HBK, Cena, and HHH win their matches at No Way Out.

This is shaping up to be the biggest WrestleMania in years.
