It's back to domestic action for this young Arsenal team. Today it's an away game against Wigan Athletic, who find themselves in a battle to stay in England's top division. After the exploits over Milan in midweek Arsene understandably warns his team against complacency. While that will be a worry, I definitely think we are good for the 3 points in this evening's late kickoff.

The key for us today will be to carry the momentum from the Champions League in to the Premiership. It will be vitally important for the team to score a convincing victory today to show the rest of England that we can deliver domestically as well. We can shut 'em up real quick and get on with what we do best. I don't think that we necessarily have to go to the JJB and score a hatfull of goals, however we need to put in a masterful performance, and get the three points. That will leave us 4 points ahead of the Manky Shite (having played one game more) and 10 ahead of the Chelski Chavs (having played 2 games more than Cashley and Co. ). I really feel that that we need to seize the initiative today, and get a vice like grip on the Premiership. This especially in the light of our closest contenders in the title race having their guts splattered out of the the FA cup, with embarrasing losses. Let us use salt and all of its wonderful properties on those wounds.

We are due to welcome back Robin Van Persie after a long, a very long spell on the sidelines, and I agree with wrighty7 when he says that RVP's return will be like a new signing for us. He will be just the shot in the arm we need going into the mad season of games. Not expecting RVP to start though, he may be come on as a sub, although he did play for an hour against the Colorado Rapids during the week. Can't quite wait to see RVP back, have waited a long time for this!

In other news Arsene raises a glass to our midfield pairing of Cescy and the Flamster comparing them to another gunner classic pairing of Vieira and Petit, saying-

"They are very mobile going forward and are technically very good. Before we had players more with impact, now their strength is more about ability. They have a good understanding, although they are less physically strong than Patrick Vieira and Emmanuel Petit."

Arsene has also reportedly beaten Barcelona, Man USA and Valencia for the signature for 15 year old defender , Miquel, currently plying his trade at Cornella more here.

And there's just one more thing to say...

...come on you Gunners!!
