BYU Cougars Need Some Love

JEREMY KEENANContributor IFebruary 11, 2009

After nearly taking out Texas A&M in last year's tournament, the Cougars have been on a tear.  Their relatively soft schedule has killed their recognition though.  Their best opponent was a near win against No. 7 Wake Forest in a game that would have boosted their national image, and should regardless of the final score.

It is nice to see some honourable mention though in the last few weeks.  It should be interesting to see how it all pans out.  Both Utah and San Diego State University (SDSU) are ranked higher than the Cougars, and both have been taken out by the Cougars. BYU will play each of them a final time this season with the Mountain West lead up for grabs.

It is no secret that UNLV is COUGAR KRYPTONITE, so that game aside, the remainder of the season is winnable.  With a little statistical luck, the Runnin' Rebels will be taken out by Utah or SDSU, and BYU can win their conference.
