WWE No Way out 2012 Results: Layla Defeats Beth Phoenix, Retains Divas Title

AJ Lee wished Daniel Bryan good luck as Beth Phoenix prepared to take on Layla El.  Beth Phoenix started off talking trash to Layla as Layla fought back with forearms and a dropkick to the knee. 

Phoenix chased Layla around the ring as Layla capitalized on Phoenix's over pursuit. 

Phoenix got the upper hand when she countered a springboard attempt from Layla and slapped on a rest hold. 

Beth continued to control the match as she worked over Layla's back.  Layla fought out of a rest hold but Phoenix tried to counter with a Glam Slam.  Layla countered the Glam Slam attempt for a nearfall, but Phoenix quickly got back into control. 

A Gorilla Press attempt was countered by Layla with a DDT for a nearfall. 

Layla then hit Beth Phoenix with her neckbreaker finisher for the win. 

Winner: Layla
