WWE No Way out 2012 Results: Christian Defeats Cody Rhodes, Retains Intercontinental Title
After a backstage segment with CM Punk and AJ, Christian and Cody Rhodes were set to do battle. Cody Rhodes opened the match in control with a series of strikes before Christian came back with multiple shoulder blocks.
The action spilled to the outside, where Christian remained in control and started to work Rhodes' knee. Christian wrapped Rhodes' knees around the steel post, but Rhodes countered and pulled Christian into the post to overtake control of the match.
Rhodes continued to dominate the match as he continued to work over Christian's left shoulder, sending him to the outside.
Christian got back into the match by throwing Rhodes into the steel steps. Both men were barely able to beat the ten count. Christian continued his momentum back in the ring with a flying dropkick for a nearfall.
After missing his patented uppercut from the outside, Christian went for a flying cross body block but the move was reversed by Rhodes for a nearfall.
Rhodes climbed the top rope but Christian joined him and connected with a super hurricanrana for a nearfall.
Rhodes went right back to the injured shoulder by slamming it on the mat for a nearfall. Rhodes followed up with an Alabama Slam for another nearfall.
Christian came back with a reverse DDT. Rhodes was able to avoid the spear and counter a sunset flip with a rollup of his own for a nearfall. Christian then hit a kill switch for a nearfall as the crowd popped.
Christian went for the Frog Splash but Rhodes up his knees up. Rhodes missed two Disaster Kicks before taking a spear for the three count.
