US Open Golf 2012 Leaderboard Day 3: Scores, Results and Analysis
Two days down and two days left of the U.S. Open! Through 36 holes, there are three men tied for the lead and four more within two shots of the top group. After a crazy day with a nonstop shift of the leaderboard, things have really heated up.
Despite the best efforts of the best players in the world, Olympic has claimed the top two in Luke Donald and Rory McIlroy. Three Americans are sitting at the top of the standings and look to survive another treacherous day.

I really feel like McDowell is going to win this thing now. He just battles and he seems to really have it going. Furyk will be a challenge though. I don't think anyone else within three shots will overtake them.

Furyk put together a really professional round as did McDowell. It's going to be tough for anyone to pass those two because they just won't give up too much.
Tiger with a horrific day to fall to +4. He will have a really tough time even having a chance of competing.
Tigers par putt ends up under the hole and he suffers another bogey! He's going to end up +4 in the clubhouse. Furyk taking his time with his par putt and he's done for the day at -1 and a share of the lead!
Furyk's birdie try comes up well short. Now Tiger will try to save par.
Tiger chips out of the rough and it barely gets out of the rough. It basically popped onto the green and went backwards.
Tiger's second on No. 18 winds up in the rough alongside the green. Furyk is on the green but a good distance from the hole.
Furyk drives right down the middle on No. 18 and just misses a divot. Tiger follows with a fairway drive of his own.

Furyk's birdie putt drops! Furyk is back under par and into a share of the lead!
Peterson for birdie and it finishes a half of a roll short! Tiger's birdie goes way right and he'll settle for par. Woods just hasn't looked good today.
Furyk from the edge of the green rolls way past the hole. He'll have a tough birdie putt. Toms misses his birdie and ends the day at +5.
Tiger out of the bunker dies at the front of the green and he'll have a tough look at birdie.
Furyk's second bounces and rolls way past the hole just off the back of the green. He should be able to get a good look at birdie.
Colsaerts is in the clubhouse at +2. McDowell is the new leader overall and in the clubhouse at -1.
Tiger's second on no. 17 goes way right and lands in the bunker. It's becoming a mess by Woods.

Peterson makes a birdie to get back to +3! McDowell's second on 18 gets to within five feet! Great chance for birdie and the lead!

Furyk drives right down the middle on No. 17. Blake Adams makes birdie to get to +2! Colsaerts gets his second into the middle of the green on No. 18.
McDowell hits a great drive down the fairway on No. 18. He has a chance to take the lead outright.
Furyk misses left on his par putt to lose a stroke as well and drop to even. No players are left under par.
Colsaerts and McDowell each miss birdie putts to stay where they are at No. 17. Tiger's long par try runs just left of the hole and he drops to +3.
Furyk's fourth out of the sand rolls pretty close to the hole for a good look at par. Tiger rolls his quickly by the hole with a long par putt. He's probably going to drop another stroke.
Colsaerts misses the green with his third shot. McDowell hits his third that just died on the fringe.
Furyk's third took a huge hook into the bunker. Tiger follows with a hook of his own that ends up in the opposite bunker.
