Top 10-ranked UFC MMA fighter Karo Parisyan has tested positive for Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone, and Oxymorphone following his UFC 94 split decision win over Dong Hyun Kim.
All three of these potent substances are highly addictive narcotics known for their pain-relieving qualities.
Parisyan is considered by many experts to be the first MMA fighter to have successfully adapted his Judo style to no-gi rules of the UFC.
He has six Junior National belts to his credit and competed in the Olympic Judo trials ahead of the 2004 games in Athens Greece.
Parisyan is 19-6 with no knockouts. He has losses to Thiago Alves, Georges St. Pierre, and Diego Sanchez, and two losses to Sean Sherk. He is now training out of Albuquerque, N.M., at Greg Jackson's submissions training.
Parisyan withdrew from a UFC 88 bout with Yoshiyuki Yoshida due to a reported back injury, and the Armenian has also had a history of dealing with panic attacks.
Parisyan defended himself in statement, saying that he revealed all medications that he has been taking prior to UFC 94, as required. He believed that he had followed proper procedure and was not in violation of any rules.
Keith Kizer's name is once again in the news and so also is a fighter from the Greg Jackson camp. No, this has nothing to do with Vaseline-gate, but its does seem like another bogus charge against members of the best fighting camp in the world.
Also, it's been recently learned that UFC fighter Chuck Liddell was the one who initially brought the St. Pierre-Vaselinegate allegations to the forefront...Liddell and Dana White are as close as brothers...Conspiracy? You decide.
The "Iceman" has been knocked out by Rashad Evans and beaten convincingly by Kieth Jardine...both are members of the very popular, world-famous Jackson Submissions training camp.
Parisyan said these allegations are totally untrue and he has been blindsided by all this. He claims that White informed him that if Josh Koscheck were to win his fight against Paulo Thiago at UFC 95 in London, he would fight Koscheck at UFC 98 at the end of May.
James Irvin is another UFC fighter who recently who tested positive for Oxymorphone, as well as Methadone; he was suspended for nine months for his infractions.
