Maynor Named Finalist for Bob Cousy Award

Virginia Commonwealth Rams senior point guard Eric Maynor was named one of the 17 finalists for the 2009 Bob Cousy Award.

The Cousy Award is given to the nation's best point guard from Division I, II, and III. Last season, D.J. Augustin of Texas won the honor.

Maynor is averaging 22.7 points and just under six assists a game. He has scored at least 20 points in 16 games this season and scored 30-plus points in five games.

The other nominees for the award are Darren Collison (UCLA,) Stephen Curry (Davidson,) Sheron Collins (KU,) Toney Douglas (FSU,) Levance Fields (Pitt,) Jonny Flynn (Syracuse,) Dominic James (Marquette,) Ty Lawson (UNC,) Patrick Mills (St. Mary's,) Jeremy Pargo (Gonzaga,) A.J. Price (UConn,) and Jeff Teague (Wake Forest,) along with two players from Division II and a pair from Division III.
