NASCAR Defends Timing System After Rash of Speeding Penalties at Pocono

NASCAR officials reiterated Thursday that there was no glitch in their timing and scoring system on pit road last week at Pocono Raceway.
Fourteen drivers were caught speeding on pit road a total of 21 times — the most speeding penalties ever in a Sprint Cup race.
The timing zones were in new positions at Pocono, which had been repaved.
