Is Urban Meyer Losing Control Already?
Urban Meyer is back in college football and will attempt to lead Ohio State to the level of national excellence that is expected of the football program. Before he does that, however, his team will have to sit out of a postseason because of NCAA sanctions that did not take place under his watch.
Still, it hasn’t been an easy few months for Meyer in his first half-year on the job. He saw two players get arrested and then suspended them for their actions. The bigger story, however, was the fact that a sex offender made contact with some of his players, which prompted a firestorm of sorts. A highly-touted recruit decommited, citing the issue, and the situation garnered plenty of national exposure.
This, combined with the recent news of his issues at Florida, has prompted some to ask if he’s already losing control of his team. The answer to that is an emphatic no, despite what some may choose to believe.
