Stay here as I keep you informed on every hole and how Woods fares through his final round. I will also include some general updates on the rest of the field.

Woods had a tough task ahead of him when he started the day and his previous history at the majors didn't favor him. He was 0-for-48 in majors when trailing after 54 holes and now is 0-for-49.
He needed to get off to a quick start but he got off to the worst start he's had in his career when he went bogey-bogey-double bogey on the first three holes and then bogeyed two of the next three.
He was at 10-over-par after six holes 11 shots off the lead and essentially ended his chances of winning his fourth U.S. Open.
He played like day and night. The first two days he was at one-under and tied for the lead, and during the weekend he played at eight-over to finish T21.
While most would like to point to his putting woes for the tournament, the reality for him was his distance control.
He would overshoot the greens or be way short. and when he was one the green, it looked like he could not get himself in position to have decent birdie-putt attempts.
Every time you looked at him putting he was outside the 20-feet range. He must address that in order to get himself ready for the Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes.
For now this will be another major disappointment for him, but he has a lot of positives to take from it.
His numbers for the tournament:
| Driving Distance | Putts | GIRs | Sand Saves | Fairways Hit |
| 287.38 yrds | 123 1.71 Avg | 45 of 72 62.50 perc. | 2 of 11 18.18 perc. | 33 of 56 58.93 perc. |
Hole 18 | Par-4 | 344-Yards | Difficulty Rank: 14 of 18
Woods makes par.

He played it just to par the hole. He didn't try to overplay the hole and made the two-putt for par to finish his 2012 U.S. Open.

RT @reillyrick: Write it down. At 2 p.m., PT, Friday, Tiger Woods took the Open lead and never looked back. ... Bet me.
— Aaron Lewis (@AA_Lew) June 18, 2012
Oh yes, I remember posting that tweet on the blog here on Friday and taking sides with Reilly. I guess it's time for me to start paying!
Oh wait! Nobody took me on the bet! So it's Reilly's turn to pay!

Am 50-50 an ESPN First Take "debate" tomorrow will be "did Player X win the U.S. Open or did Tiger Woods lose it?" even if he finishes 25th
— Erik Boland (@eboland11) June 17, 2012
Interesting point. I want to debate that! Let me know your opinion, did he lose it or was he overplayed?
My take? He was overplayed, you go out there and play for the championship. He knows that better than anybody else on the field and just didn't get it done.
He did things right the first two days and just didn't deliver during the weekend. Everybody else that finishes above him did.

Frustration and the realization that he let the tournament go has really set in for Woods!

Woods makes par
Woods was not able to take advantage of this easy hole, especially with the flag sitting in the lower part of the green making it play even shorter.
He tried to drive it into the green but landed on the right rough. From there he didn't get a good shot off but left the ball within 15 feet to try for his birdie since the ninth hole yesterday.
But he missed by less than a foot and had to settle for a tap-in par.

What has happened to Tiger Woods?! Man golf is just not the same without him in the hunt. #GuessIWillWatchTheNews
— Chris Smith (@chrismith) June 17, 2012
There is still an interesting golf fight up front going on, but this is the common sentiment among golf fans, especially when watching him unravel as he has done the past two days.
He was one-under the first two rounds, since then 11-over.
Woods is now at the second easiest hole on the course, the short par-four, 288-yards seventh hole.
On the previous three rounds, Woods has gone par-bogey-par. There you see part of his struggles, as he has not been able to take advantage of the easy holes.

Woods makes bogey!
Woods continues the free fall on this final round.
For the second hole in-a-row, his approach shot goes over the green and as it has been customary for his so far, he couldn't get the ball to be inside 15 feet to give himself a decent chance for a birdie.
He missed the long par-saving putt and had to settle for a bogey for the fourth time in six holes.
Six drop shots in six holes. At least the stretch of this first six holes is over, let's see what he cam come up with from here on.
