The world of cycling is about to be turned upside down.

According to the New York Daily News, seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong is in danger of getting his titles erased from the record books:

While nothing is official regarding the status of his titles, this is a significant step by the U.S. Anti-Doping Association and one that has the potential to shatter Armstrong’s legacy.

The retired cyclist has already issued a statement claiming his innocence (via The Washington Post):

I have never doped, and, unlike many of my accusers, I have competed as an endurance athlete for 25 years with no spike in performance, passed more than 500 drug tests and never failed one.

The USADA is the agency in charge of anti-doping efforts within Olympic sports in the United States. It has the ability to hand out charges that potentially lead to suspension from competition and stripping of awards.
