The Fighting Irish head into 2012 with high expectations (what else is new?), more talent than they’ve ever had and a quarterback position to fill.
Brian Kelly has his choice of four players, all of whom are unique in skill set. Tommy Rees, Andrew Hendrix, Everett Golson and blue chipper Gunner Kiel are all vying for the starter job, but who will take home this honor and when will we learn about it?
Kelly will likely use this time to watch as many offensive snaps as he possibly can, and he won’t name a starter until at least camp begins. As for his selection, it remains a mystery.
Kiel seems a bit raw at this moment—despite his talent—and it would be a bit of a surprise if he were named the starter. That leaves us with three, and Michael Felder and I disagreed on who we believe will be under center for the Irish come game one in Ireland.
