Euro 2012: Top 4 Past and Present WAGs of the Republic of Ireland

In the latest series dedicated to the WAGs (Wives and Girlfriends) of athletes from the Euro 2012 countries, a dedication to the Republic of Ireland is in order.

The Republic of Ireland is in Group C with Spain, Italy and Croatia. They recently lost their first match against Croatia.

4. Jane Cunningham

Jane Cunningham is the wife of Shay Given, who is Aston Villa's and the Republic of Ireland goalkeeper. According to The Independent (of Ireland), the couple devote their time to raise money for the charity organization MacMillan Cancer Support.

Ms. Cunningham graduated with honors from Glasgow University and became a primary school teacher as reported by The Independent.

3. Jessica Lawlor

Jessica Lawlor is the WAG of Stephen Ireland who (according to a report by The Independent) refused an offer to play for the Republic of Ireland Euro 2012 squad.

Ms. Lawlor is seen in a special program by Ispyfashion showing I Spy Fashion hostess Jeanie Spyed her latest fashion accessories.

2. Gillian Quinn

Gillian Quinn is the wife of the Niall Quinn, who is the former striker for the Premier League clubs of Arsenal, Manchester City and Sunderland. Mrs. Quinn admitted in an interview with Leanne Smyth of The Free Library that she does not consider herself a WAG.

At the same time, Mrs. Quinn challenged the WAGs of the day to "behave themselves" in order to avoid media scrutiny. She is currently the hostess of her own television show broadcast on Kildare TV.

Mrs. Quinn made the news in the beginning of 2012 promoting the cause of the National Council for the Blind of Ireland (NCBI). She challenged personalities of the fashion world to donate their unused shoes to the charitable organization in a report by Breda Heferman of The Independent.

Claudine Palmer is the wife of Robbie Keane, who is a forward for the Republic of Ireland Euro 2012 squad and the LA Galaxy. Robbie Keane played most recently for Aston Villa on loan.

Ms. Palmer was once a contestant for the Miss Ireland competition. The couple has a son whose name is Robert, according to The Daily Mail.
