Saturday night's controversial split decision was horrendous to witness. Every person I talked to, saw post on social networks or heard on TV thought Manny Pacquiao won decisively.
Because he did. But that's not how the judges saw it. They gave the victory to Timothy Bradley by split decision.
Boxing fans were robbed last night. They are the real losers.
Who knows if it was fixed, but Bradley admitting that he will have to watch the tape to see if he won should tell you the whole story. He doesn't even believe he won. He was as stunned as anybody.
And now there is already a rematch in place?
What a joke.
I've said from the beginning that Pac-Man and Floyd Mayweather can't lose prior to their potential super fight. It would take all the wind out of it.
It would be like watching the loser of one game play the winner of the other.
Would it make sense? Is that appealing?
I may be in the minority on this one, but it's true. I wouldn't want to watch their fight now that Pac-Man lost. It's pointless.
The sport of boxing is to blame for this decision. Bradley being awarded the victory happened, and it's not going to change. Like it or not.
Boxing ruined its credibility, pay-per-view buys and overall respect. It was a disgrace to watch and they should be ashamed.
Fans are the real losers from this situation. They bought the pay-per-view, they deserve to see the correct outcome.
Saturday night was highway robbery at its finest.
