What They’re Saying

TNA president Dixie Carter took to Twitter to announce that the company’s newly-formed Hall of Fame would be announcing its first entrant at the PPV:

Excited to announce our first inductee into the TNA Hall of Fame at Slammiversary!

— Dixie Carter (@TNADixie) June 1, 2012

While popular radio show Ring Rust Radio has come down hard on TNA in the past, a solid card with a few very bright spots will satisfy even the most fickle beast:

#TNA #Slammiversary won't be bad. Give me @SamoaJoe vs. @AustinAries and the storyline with #BullyRay & #JosephPark any day! @RingRustRadio

Christian’s Return to TNA

While there had been much speculation about what the WWE gave TNA in order to have Ric Flair appear on their WrestleMania 28 Hall of Fame ceremony, it looks like the answer has finally been exposed.

Dixie Carter revealed on Twitter that the star that WWE would allow to appear on a PPV and possibly be the first inductee into the TNA Hall of Fame is…Christian?!

On a plane headed to Dallas for the big PPV this weekend. Very excited @Christian4Peeps is joinin us for the night. He's one of my favorites

— Dixie Carter (@TNADixie) June 8, 2012

While I loved Christian’s time in TNA, I don’t like that this is just TNA’s way of getting back at the WWE by making a Hall of Fame and inducting Christian; if that is indeed what they are doing here.

I love the idea of TNA showing WWE that they can capitalize off their success, and hope that it starts to breed more rivalry between the companies.

Main Event Prediction

While it feels like we have seen Sting vs. Bobby Roode a thousand times, it’s because we have.

These two have been battling since Roode became the champ, but there is still something fun about it, because Sting is a great sports entertainer.

It has become abundantly clear that TNA loves having the strap around the waste of Roode and feels the lengthy title run will legitimize its worth. With all of that said, this is the perfect time to give Sting one last run.

If 2012 truly is the end of Sting’s career, giving him one final title run would be a great way for TNA to show their appreciation.

Plus, he can go to WWE in 2013 and wrestle Undertaker at WrestleMania 29…A man can dream.
