Every athlete is hated by somebody. These players active players (or players who have yet to file their retirement papers) are hated by pretty much everybody. Whether it's because they play for a teams rival, their drama on the field, their antics off the field, or the way they treated the fans and media.

If you have any other players who you would like to add leave a comment below, I wanted to make it the top 10 but I couldn't find anybody who I felt was on the same level as these guys.

5. A.J. Pierzynski

CHICAGO - OCTOBER 05: A.J. Pierzynski #12 of the Chicago White Sox hits a RBI single in the bottom of the third inning against the Tampa Bay Rays in Game Three of the ALDS during the 2008 MLB Playoffs at U.S. Cellular Field on October 5, 2008 in Chicago,

Personally I love the way he plays the game, but he definetly lets his emotions get the best of him sometimes.

4. Kenny Rogers

Most guys who are able to pitch at an effective level into their forties shouldn't make the list of the most hated players in baseball but when you assault a camera guy and don't feel bad about it then you've got some issues that you might want to work out.

3. Roger Clemens

KISSIMMEE, FL - FEBRUARY 27: Roger Clemens warms up prior to throwing batting practice to the minor leaguers at Houston Astros Spring Training at Osceola County Stadium on February 27, 2008 in Kissimmee, Florida. The U.S. House Oversight and Government Re

Like the previous article it's hard to hate someone who pitched so well for so long, but Clemens has definetly fallen far. Where to begin? First he threw a broken bat at Mike Piazza, then he had the whole steroid alligations, and to make matters worse he supposedly had an affair with a teenage girl while he was married. What a great dude.

2. Alex Rodriguez

Alex Rodriguez has been disliked for a while and yeah alot of people hated him, but if he thought the boos were bad last year then he's got another thing coming. The steroid alligations have now tainted a career that had been pretty solid on the field. The man who was never considered a cheater and might have gone down as the greatest hitter ever is now going to be tainted for the rest of his time. Not bad to go along with his primadona actions off the field, but hey at least he still has Madona.

1. Barry Bonds

SAN FRANCISCO - SEPTEMBER 26: Barry Bonds #25 of the San Francisco Giants stands with Giants manager Bruce Bochy #15 before batting in the first inning against the San Diego Padres September 26, 2007 at AT&T Park in San Francisco, California. Tonight wil

Wow where do I begin? He treated the media and fans like they were complete garbage, cheated on his wife, and broke 2 of the most beloved records in baseball all while he was on the roids. But it's cool he didn't know he was taking them. He had more talent than anybody to come around in a real long time and quite possibly could have gone down as the greatest player to ever play the game.
