Predicting the Jets' Biggest Surprises & Breakout Stars

Erik FrenzSenior Writer IApril 9, 2016

If the New York Jets are going to get their flight back on schedule after crash landing in 2011, they'll need to get breakout performances from at least a couple of key players.

Just who those players could be is another question entirely.

Head coach Rex Ryan will be looking for some of his young talent to step up on defense as they try to infuse that side of the ball with a bit more athleticism than they had last season, while on offense, new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano will do his diligence to get the Jets back to the ground-and-pound style of offense they became known for in 2009 and 2010.

That has left me with two very obvious breakout candidates for the 2012 season. Press play to hear my thoughts.
